Business Development Representative
Multifamily software and technology. Research the portfolio, find the right person, start a conversation worth having. A real entry point into PropTech sales.
The Role
We're looking for someone curious, motivated, and resourceful who wants to build a career in technology and software sales — and would rather learn by doing it than by reading about it.
You'll introduce property management leaders to technology that changes how their utility billing, revenue, and visibility work. That starts with research and outreach, and turns into conversations that matter.
This is an entrepreneurial environment with clear goals, direct access to people who've done this before, and room to test your own approach instead of running someone else's script.
What You'll Do
- →Complete at least 50 documented, meaningful outreach activities each business day — real calls and personalized emails to property management executives and decision-makers
- →Use Smart Apartment Data, Salesforce, and AI-supported sales tools to research companies, portfolios, and the people who actually make decisions
- →Run initial qualification calls — ask good questions, listen for the business need, figure out whether there's something real here
- →Book qualified opportunities with the sales team for discovery
- →Keep Salesforce accurate — outreach, conversations, follow-ups, next steps
- →Feed what you learn back into targeting, messaging, and outreach
What Success Looks Like
Consistency, curiosity, professionalism, follow-through. Hit your daily phone and email goals, keep clean Salesforce records, run qualification calls that actually qualify, and hand the sales team opportunities worth their time.
Over a longer horizon: you know our platform and the multifamily industry cold, your response and conversion rates climb, and you're contributing ideas that make the whole sales process better.
What You Bring
- →Genuine interest in software, SaaS, proptech, or technology sales — and in learning through real experience
- →Resourceful, professional, organized, persistent
- →Comfortable talking to senior business leaders
- →A strong listener who asks thoughtful questions and is motivated by measurable goals
- →Strong written and verbal communication, and confidence picking up the phone
- →Solid research ability, good judgment, and comfort learning new tools
Previous experience in business development, sales, recruiting, customer service, hospitality, fundraising, or any communication-heavy role helps — but it isn't required. Neither is experience with Salesforce, SaaS, multifamily property management, proptech, or utility billing. We'll teach you that part.
Why Vitality
This is a hands-on sales environment, not a heavily scripted one. You'll get a real introduction to our platform, our operators, our target market, and our sales process — plus examples, resources, and a team that answers questions.
Training is practical and ongoing, which means you should be comfortable learning through observation, conversation, independent research, and doing the work. You'll come out of it with real exposure to software sales, executive prospecting, Salesforce, AI-supported sales tools, qualification, pipeline development, and multifamily technology.
